Why is the dues structure set up the way it is? TMH has ongoing financial obligations, such as feeding the hounds, paying the mortgage, paying the huntsman etc. These costs accrue in all months of the year. Basically, the premise is that those who hunt pay their share of the costs that make their hunting enjoyment possible. This is your club, your hunt, and it can only survive by your Support. The amount is $1250 per rider, and your family members are welcome at all social functions. What is the cost for juniors and children? For riders under 23 years of age the amount is $200 per rider per year. What about an Introductory Rate? There is a one year only Introductory Riding Membership in the amount of $625 per rider. (Current 1st year members will be grandfathered into the current structure they joined under, so will pay the second year Intro fee of either $700 or $500, depending on marital status). Again, family members are welcome to all social functions. What about Affiliate Membership? An Affiliate Member is a person who pays full dues to another hunt club. The amount they pay to ride with Moingona is $250 per rider per year. What is Out of State Membership? This is for people who live in surrounding states and are not members of any other hunt club. The amount is $625 per rider per year. What is a Hunt Supporter? It is felt that those who derive the most from Moingona are those that ride to hounds. However, we welcome people who want to participate in the other activities and social events. Instead of having Social categories, there is just one category, called Hunt Supporter. These people are welcome to participate in all activities Moingona sponsors, except riding to hounds . The amount of this category is $200 per supporter. What is the Capping Policy for TMH? Non-Moingona members, i.e. guests, are allowed to cap a maximum of 3 times in a lifetime by paying a capping fee. For now that fee is $30, but for consistency purposes, may be changed to $50. Invitational hunts are not included in this 3 time max. Can my non-hunting spouse, significant other or children give hunting a try if I am a riding member? Yes, they are allowed to cap a maximum of 3 times a season for $50 per cap. It is our hope, not our demand, that non active family members would consider joining as Hunt Supporters as well. Whether they do or not, does not exclude them from the 3 times a year policy. |
